The VVG

The Dutch Association for Women's History (VVG) is open for all those who are interested in, or partake in the study of, the history of women and gender. Its aim is to develop, stimulate and coordinate activities and research in this field.

Activities

Every spring an annual meeting is held, including a lecture or the presentation of a book on a subject from the history of women.

Once every two years a national or international conference is organised. Apart from this, smaller seminars are organised on specific themes, such as colonial history and women's history, a labour market for women historians. The Dutch Association for Women's History stimulates regular contact with several women's associations on behalf of its members.

Publications

Three times p.a. the Dutch Association for Women's History publishes Historica. This periodical contains publications and news both from the Netherlands and foreign countries, reports on conferences, reviews, interviews and programs of events. Members of the Dutch Association for Women's History enjoy reduction on its publications and on the Yearbook for Women's History (in Dutch).
